COSMETIC INJECTABLES Q&A

WHAT ARE COSMETIC INJECTABLES?

Cosmetic injectables are soft tissue fillers and treatments that the team injects into the skin to fill in or smooth out wrinkles and plump up saggy skin. They can also use certain fillers to reshape and contour your face, providing completely personalized treatment for every patient.

Unlike cosmetic surgery, cosmetic injectables are minimally invasive and require little to no downtime.

Are there different types of cosmetic injectables?

The team offers several different types of cosmetic injectables, including:

Botox

Botox is made from a neurotoxic protein that temporarily freezes the muscle it injects, preventing the skin that sits atop it from creasing. Not only does Botox smooth and soften existing wrinkles, but it also prevents new lines from forming. Most Botox treatments last anywhere from three to six months, but you can return to the office for maintenance treatments.

Restylane

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler that adds volume and fullness to the hollow or saggy areas of your face. It’s especially effective at treating deep wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds around the nose. The team also uses Restylane to plump up thin, wrinkled lips. In some cases, Restylane results last up to 18 months.

Sculptra®

Sculptra is an injectable made with poly-L-lactic acid, which encourages collagen production. It’s used to fill in hollow cheeks and other areas of your face that appear sunken. While Sculptra requires more treatments than other injectables — about four to six scheduled weeks apart — the results last up to two years.

Kybella®

Kybella is the only cosmetic injectable FDA-approved to eliminate fat underneath the chin. The team uses Kybella to get rid of your double chin for a younger, slimmer appearance. You will need approximately six treatments to achieve your desired results.

Jeuveau™

Jeuveau is an FDA-approved injectable used to treat moderate to severe frown lines around the forehead. Like Botox, Jeuveau works by temporarily reducing muscle function at the injection site.

What can cosmetic injectables treat?

Cosmetic injectables minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They are especially effective at treating:

  • Frown lines
  • Marionette lines (around the mouth)
  • Thin or wrinkled lips
  • Crow’s feet
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Saggy jawline
  • Under-eye hollows
  • Dimpled chin
  • Bunny lines (around the nose)

The team can even use dermal fillers like Juvederm to reshape and contour your jaw or cheeks to sculpt your jaw and enhance your cheekbones.
